Manzanillo Vacations
Manzanillo, Mexico is located in the Mexican state of Colima. It contains the busiest port in Mexico, and is famous around the world for its deep sea fishing and unique green flash phenomenon at sunsets. The city is a destination resort, and has many hotels and Manzanillo all inclusive resorts for tourists to indulge in.
Manzanillo offers more than the typical beach-watersport-resort vacations that are found in other places in Mexico. Of course, there are these activities, but vacations in Manzanillo go above and beyond. Balnearios (places to bathe) such as Agua Fria, Agua Caliente, and most famously, Los Amiales provide visitors with a hot spring experience, along with pristine creeks and rivers to cool off in. There are always locals and tourists alike splashing around and enjoying the clean river, pools, waterfalls, and walking paths. Restaurants line the banks, but many visitors rent chairs and tables and picnic around the river. Or travel to the El Salto waterfall, which is a beautiful place accessible only by driving on a windy mountain road through jungles and rain forests. The water park has water slides fed by crystal clear springs, and the three-story waterfall is surrounded by caves, pools, and grottos to explore.
Of course, Manzanillo all inclusive vacations wouldn't be complete without a dive underneath the warm, sparkling waters. Beginners can take diving courses, while those more experience can jump in to see schools of fish, sponges, corals, rays, eels, seahorses, and crabs. The coral itself is colorful and contains many varieties of sea life, including the mysterious octopus.
A trip to the famous Colima Volcano makes a great addition to Manzanillo all inclusive vacation packages. Guided tours in four wheel drive vehicles give visitors information and history on the active volcano, which still has eruptions and lava flows that can be viewed from a safe distance.
Manzanillo vacations also offer plenty of experiences for dining out. Seafood is the primary specialty here, with many restaurants boasting views of the bay and of spectacular sunsets. Other restaurants, from five-star gourmet dining to local specialties, are quite easy to find.
The beaches of Manzanillo are golden and sandy, fringed by jungle vegetation and fruit plantations. The coastline is ringed by mountains, and many feel that it is one of the best places to see the famed "green flash" as the setting sun briefly shoots up a green spot as it sinks beneath the horizon.
