Windstar Cruises

Windstar cruises take passengers to the most enticing ports of call there are. From the bright blue waters of the Aegean Sea while visiting Greece, to the postcard-like beaches of the Caribbean, to a trip to see the rainforests and sandy beaches of Costa Rica, Windstar will take you there.

Luxurious accommodations and fine dining await passengers aboard Windstar cruises, and activities such as a library, casino, fitness center, and fly bridge allow plenty of things to keep the passengers occupied. All three ships have undergone recent refurbishments, and these sleek masted ships find the balance of exceptional service and amenities. The atmosphere is laid back, with “causal elegance” being the dress.

The ships of the Windstar cruise line are all considered motored-sail-yachts, but their stunning trademark is billowing white sails that reach high into the sky. The “open bridge” takes captains and officers of the ships out of seclusion, allowing guests to drop in at all times and learn about the intricacies of sailing huge vessels such as these ships.

In the Mediterranean, the sights of Greece and Turkey await travelers. Visit the Byzantine Hippodome, the Obelisk of the Contsantine, the Blue Mosque, and the Topkapi Palace, home to almost three centuries of sultans. This was the seat of the government for the Ottoman Empire, and the priceless treasures and jewelry that once belonged to the sultans. The Grand Bazaar, which holds 92 streets, is the largest and oldest covered bazaar in Turkey. Visitors can buy everything from Turkish handicrafts, rare jewels, Oriental carpets, books, gold and silver, and inexpensive souvenirs.

The cliffs of Santorini rise dramatically from deep blue waters, and the town of Fira is 1,000 feet straight up. The only way to get there is to climb, take a cable car, or the quintessential Greek way: a donkey. From the top of the cliffs, the views are breathtaking. From blue and white buildings and churches, black volcanic beaches, and the sparkling Mediterranean Sea. Mykonos, home to thatched windmills and cubist houses, has cafes and architectural masterpieces to enjoy. Athens has incredible ruins, such as the Acropolis, the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, and of course, the Parthenon. Should you tire of the ancient ruins, the busy metropolis of modern Athens has chic nightclubs, gourmet bars, museums, and much more.

In the Caribbean, visit the happy island of Barbados. Although it’s easy to see why the locals are so thrilled with their lives: beautiful beaches, manor estates, cane plantations, coconut and palm trees, and much more make this island an incredible place to spend time. St. Maarten/ St. Martin is a half-Dutch, half-French island. The French side is small and chic, with shops, cafes, and bistros.  On the Dutch side, Front Street has duty free shopping and there are 37 stunning beaches to partake in.

No matter what type of voyage you have experienced before, there is none like a Windstar cruise. With fabulous amenities and exotic destinations, a cruise with Windstar is unlike any other.
