Starclipper

StarClippers LTD combines the comforts and amenities of modern cruising, with the traditions and history of the past. With their distinctive tall sails, these boats are unlike any other cruise ship in the world.

The Royal Clipper is the only five-masted sailing ship built this century. With 42 sails, this boat looks fit for an ancient king or royal family, but with state of the art navigation systems and all the comforts of a modern hotel, this ship is an incredible study in contrasts. Guests are invited to climb the mast to peer out of the crow’s nests, where settees are provided for the best view around. Inside, a 3-deck atrium shines sunlight into the dining room, and a marina platform lowers itself from the stern for guests who want to engage in water sports such as snorkeling and diving. The most incredible feature is the Captain Nemo Lounge, a spa and health club, with has underwater glass portholes for a unique view of the sea.

There are no schedules on board the StarClipper cruise lines. Guests are free to do as they please, at any time. At certain ports, passengers enjoy local musicians and performers who are brought on board to share the flavor and music of the islands. With unusual activities such as crab racing or lessons on how to tie knots, the fact that there is no schedule to partake in all the enjoyments offered is a good thing. Guests are welcome to take a dip in the pools, or simply relax on a lounge chair with a tropical drink in hand, soaking in the sunshine. When the StarClipper is docked, guests can partake in windsurfing, swimming, snorkeling, waterskiing, or sailing in a Sunfish.

Breakfasts on board are the best ways to start your days aboard the Star Clipper. Simple continental breakfasts, with croissants that seems as if they were bought in Paris only moments before, or full breakfast with tropical fruits, meat such as bacon and sausage, and omelettes are made to order. Lunch is a buffet of seafood and salads, an the evening, the food showcases the chef’s gourmet cuisines.

Rooms are decorated with brass fitting and mahogany wood, with fabrics that match the colors of the sea and sky. Deluxe suites offer private verandas, with whirlpool tubs, twenty four hour room service, and queen sized beds. All rooms have marble bathrooms, television, comfortable furnishings, and a private safe.

StarClipper cruises sail to many different ports of call in the Caribbean.  Lush and natural islands such as St. Lucia and the Grenadines have tropical flowers and deserted beaches to enjoy, and small islands such as Iles des Saintes are not visited by the huge mega-cruise ships. In the cays of Trinidad and Tobago, the marine life is colorful and active around the coral reefs, making diving and snorkeling there an incredible sight to see.

No matter where the destination, the journey aboard the StarClipper and the experience you have getting there will leave you amazed.
